Wait, one more final thing! Don't use facetrackNoIR's "face tracking" feature where it just uses a camera and your face, that is a terrible way to go and is not really going to give you the results you are looking for. One final note about building a freetrack rig, you have to use IR LED's, they are easy to get at Radioshack or whatever local electronic supply you have around, don't use normal LED's as they will cancel out the ability to use the setup during daytime or with lights on, using IR LED's will let you set it up so the camera will only see your IR LED's and not any other surrounded non IR light sources.
#FREETRACK PS3 EYE SOFTWARE#
The other option is essentially the same as Freetrack but it uses the FacetrackNoIR software, the dev's of that software have recently added a "point tracker" mode that acts just like freetrack, I have not personally had much success with it myself but it is still a option.
#FREETRACK PS3 EYE HOW TO#
The only rub is that the software is not super easy to figure out at first, a lot of folks try it, don't get the right results because they did not take the time to llearn how to properly adjust it and give up usually after calling it crap but the reality is that it is very good and can produce fantastic results assuming you are willing to put the time into adjusting it all properly. First off, you have 'Freetrack' look it up on googleit is free software that works like the TrackIR software, the only catch is that you have to build your own IR head tracking rig and modify a webcam, still, don't worry about it too much since the construction of such things takes only a quick trip to radio shack and a Sunday afternoon, it is very easy to build everything you will need. Provide a great feature which will 'smooth' zooming when actually zooming using the facetrackeritself Z axiswhich could be quite useful for flight sims. When using IR emitting points, with a webcam modified to filter ambient light and keep IR only, it compares to other solutions. There is tracknoIR, which just uses a webcam, but it is highly unreliable and quite crap. Home Discussions Workshop Market Broadcasts.
