Jackie said that she was hoping to take part in the event at Grant Park and bringing her own torch to meet up with members of Jog Scotland who have been involved in the organisation of the Moray event. Meanwhile, Forres is getting ready to get its hands on its very own Olympic torch, today (Tuesday) as the Moray torch relay - which is using a replica travels from Dallas through Rafford and around the Forres area, stopping at various schools, then up through Dyke, the Broom of Moy and arriving at Grant Park sometime between 4.30pm and 5.30pm. Mrs Nicol who returned to Forres, still wearing her official Olympic kit said she was keeping it on all day and bringing her torch with her to show other people in the town. Jackie ran a stretch in Aviemore on Monday morning when the torch arrived, after it had done the North of Scotland circuit, and was heading south. "When we were all on the bus on the way there, I really thought I was going to cry, it was very emotional." The Torch has travelled by water from Torquay all the way to the Olympic and Paralympic sailing venue as part of the 1948 Sailing Relay and has visited 16 sailing clubs along the way. To mark the end of its very unique journey the replica 1948 Torch is to be gifted from Torbay Council to the WPNSA next week. "It was an absolutely amazing experience," she said. A replica of the 1948 Torch travelled almost 80 miles from Torquay to Weymouth by water. The bank is a 2012 London Olympics official sponsor, but Jackie said that she was just overwhelmed at being selected and invited to take part.
